One of our work locations had apple trees. So we excitedly brought some back to the trailer where I just happen to have a head of Butter Lettuce. It's always a thrill to have live, fresh-picked food.
So I made my co-workers a salad.
Later in the day when we were talking about food, one of the girls said "I hate grocery shopping!!" I responded that I can understand, especially when the produce is in Big Ugly Bulky Packaging, where it's hard to see the Pretty, Fresh Grown, Colorful fruits and veggies. She then inquired where she should shop and if the food would be inexpensive...
I gave her some good ideas for her area and then said "I don't focus on the cost because its what I'm putting INSIDE my body, and I only want the best to go inside me. Though I do try to select nice items that are on sale, and then create meal ideas around that. In the end, it's just as cost effective."
The next day she came to work with a grocery bag FULL of the healthiest things she could find, and then made ME a snack which was delightful! A bean dip she had left over from our catering with crunchies for scooping......Then informed me she has planned an outing with her hubby to the market I suggested, and they are going to pick a beautiful meal to make together!
AWE, love it!!
What a thrill to inspire others around me, almost accidentally, by simply sharing ideas and a love for exciting fresh food.
I find everyday I live & breathe to be a gift.
