Bringing Morocco Home
Keeping life interesting...
My theory is this:
If you can't travel to Morocco, bring Morocco home!
I ordered an authentic Tagine.
Soaked, seasoned, and sealed it.
Last night we made Moroccan Meat Balls with Olive Rosemary flat bread
Tonight were making Tagine Chicken with herbs from the garden, Harissa spicy sauce, Quiona, and Rustic Sourdough bread.
Home should be a place you love to be when you can't always be in a place you might love to see.

A little olive named Castelvetrano
There is a great little Italian market in Portland that I've shopped at a couple of times during my stay here. For our upcoming Vineyard sightseeing (and last day in town), I recently picked out some delicious charcuterie and olives, along with sheep and goat cheese to pair it with...
Colorless but not flavorless
I had a little work done to my teeth, and the doctor's orders were
No Dark, or Colored Food for 48 hours!
What? Colorless food?!
So I decided it would be a new adventure.
Despair Not taste buds!
Scallops cooked on a cast iron grill and Branzino Fish stuffed with parsley, garlic, lemons & fennel. Served with a side of lemon thyme potatoes.
Creative with leftovers
I had a very ripe mango, a very ripe avocado and a tiny bit of butter lettuce.
Beautiful food I did not want to waste.
So I scooped out the avocado and placed it inside the butter lettuce
Filled it with mango, herbs from the garden, and a splash of lemon!
Perfect solution for a nice light summer weekend brunch ... yum
Tickling the taste buds
Well, another accident at the pad (don't worry - the good kind)
My avocados were getting too ripe to use. Grrr. So I had to think fast.
Looking through my garden and fridge, I pulled a of little this and that and...
WALA! A delicious concoction
Creatively changing it up, one sandwich at a time...
Grilled Ciabatta Bread
Plain Greek yogurt
Big pinch of Dill
Pinch of Red Chili peppers
Sweet Pickles or Cucumbers
Splash of Red Wine Vinegar
Trickle of Olive Oil
NOW GO TICKLE YOUR TASTE BUDS!
(see how I couldn't resist a bite before I took the picture!)
I find everyday I live & breathe to be a gift.
